Laura Mote, LICSW
As a therapist, I am direct but full of curiosity, down-to-earth, and non-judgmental. I will walk alongside you in the therapeutic process. I am dedicated to working with individuals searching for guidance with anxiety, depression, stress/burnout due to work or personal issues, self-esteem issues, behavioral problems or mood disorders. I work with individuals age 12 to 65+.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and received my bachelors degree in Psychology from the University of Alaska and a Masters in Social Work from Walla Walla University. I have worked in the helping field for 20 years, and more specifically as a Therapist for the past 9 years.
My experience with horses led me to the Natural Lifemanship Institute (NL), and I am currently level two trained. This model utilizes the neurobiology of trauma and attachment style of relationships and believes that “relationships are the vehicle for change”in one’s life. NL is so much more than equine assisted psychotherapy; NL is a principle-based model rooted in trauma informed care.
I am currently working toward EMDRIA certification.
When I am not working, I enjoy spending time with my dogs, binging Netflix, and being in nature.
